Secret rum sessions at the Town Hall
THE secret is out. Councillors, presumably driven to a search for anaesthetic by some of the deathly-dull meetings at the Town Hall, took part in secret boozy interludes.
Speaking during Monday’s full council meeting, Lib Dem councillor Flick Rea revealed sharing drams of rum with the late Jerry Williams as part of an affectionate tribute to a man who became Camden’s first black mayor. An eminently likeable character who will clearly be missed, Jerry’s funeral will be held tomorrow.
