Does Campbell only play Old Trafford? Get your boots on son

Alastair Campbell and Raj Chada in their cup final suits

SO we have it, Camden Labour Party’s captain Councillor Awale Olad has supplied the teamsheet for next Tuesday’s Pakistan flood relief football fund-raiser at Haverstock.

They field: Cllr Nasim Ali. Murad Qureshi AM, Cllr Abdul Hai, Cllr Theo Blackwell, Rob Higson (Camden Town May 6 Candidate), Jack Smith (Frog & Fitz – byelection Candidate), Raj Chada, Jake Sumner, Cllr Tom Neumark, Cllr Awale Olad, Mubarak Deerow (youth Cllr for Haverstock).

One word: Weak, if I’m honest.

But anyhows: what about soccer-mad Alastair Campbell? Where’s his name on the teamsheet for such an important fund-raiser? We all know he loves a game, he plays in those Soccer Aid charity matches for Unicef at Old Trafford with Ruud Gulliyt and Gordon Ramsay. An enthusiastic local member and well versed in charity football matches, methinks he should have been in starting eight.

It’s not as if his beloved Burnley are playing in the Champions League that night. Why has he been overlooked for a place on the team bus?

Get your boots on Campbell, your party needs you.

  1. You can play your little mind-games as much as you want on your blog but the truth is you’re not Sir Alex and you don’t have any young legs to bolster your ranks. Can we have your team sheet? No excuses about tactical intelligence…the truth is, the mere thought of taking on Camden Labour’s youngsters has the CNJ players dropping out like flies with injuries.

I remember when we last played you I scored a hat trick and I was the only player under 30 in the squad – now there’s another 4 youngsters, giving extra fire power to the well-trained and experienced members of the Labour Group. We’ve even got a youth cllr (18yo), further reducing our average age to around 27-28. Can you boast such variety?

You’re all quaking in your boots – we can feel it!
