Dave meets scourge of the scumbags

Gospel Oak councillor Keith Sedgwick in the frame with David Cameron

SORE hands and cheek muscles for Keith Sedgwick tonight  methinks. Exhibit one: this screenshot from Tuesday night’s election coverage on Sky appears to show the Gospel Oak councillor right behind Mr and Mrs Cameron as they launched the Tory manifesto in Battersea.

When you see the whole clip, Keith is grinning from ear to ear and clapping away enthusiastically. I wonder if he had the chance to tell Dave and Sam about how he has spent the last four years on Camden Council, a spell which on the local Conservative campaign website he says has left him wanting to “continue my work against local scumbags”.

Richard, this is slightly different from Cameron’s somewhat softer, liberal-friendly “Hug a Hoodie”, No?

Isn’t that the nature of the job, Don?

One of your predecessors said to me that if we (the local press) stopped going to Full Council meetings, they would be over in half an hour. What do you reckon?

  5. That may not be true. Local reporters often don’t bother with full council meetings in Lewisham but they still go on til 10pm.
