LIBERAL Democrat councilllor Chris Naylor has become a rather prolific letter writer to newspapers, particularly The Guardian, who ahead of the party’s conference in Brighton, where a large contingent of the local group have headed this week, jumped at the chance to publish his thoughts on party leader Nick Clegg and his student fee apology. For a party which values its hard-working foot soldiers, the councillors who pound the beat turning council wards around through neighbourly relations, the crunch line is the final line: ‘It’s increasingly not just students who feel betrayed’.
With spicy sentiments like that, I wonder if head office have been on the phone.

Would this be Mr Naylor who as part of a coalition administration, in Camden, in which the Lib-Dems were the majority, cut subsidies for adult education evening classes, closed down the Kilburn Grange Play Centre and doubled the charge for library loans of foreign language, audio tuition CDs and cassettes? Pot Naylor berates Kettle Clegg.
The most revealing passage of the letter is: “when many have forgotten, and those that haven’t won’t change their mind” – here you are Mr Naylor, you’re all tactics and no values!
