A lucky escape

BRADFORD. George Galloway wins again. Labour licks its wounds again. You wouldn’t want to be a branch member or a beaten candidate up there listening to Galloway crowing this morning. For as you will see below, he can outcrow anybody. More interesting locally is that the whole affair amounts to a lucky escape for a councillor from Camden who I’m reliably informed was sounded out about standing for Labour in the by-election. Wisely, they decided to politely turn down the invitation. Sensible.

And now to that famous Galloway crowing. There haven’t been many people who’ve been able to turn Jeremy Paxman around quite like this. As soon, as ‘the Pax’ has uttered the requested congratulations, the earpiece is out and GG is away, leaving David Lammy to explain, if a little pompously, the Labour response.

  1. Paxman was awesome. Cant believe that anyone would vote for that odious man. Poor Bradford West

  2. Paxman did a great disservice to the viewing public here by not exploring further why The Respect Party managed to win more votes than the Lib Dems, Tories and Labour put together. Lib Dems lost their deposit. The anti austerity position of Galloway clearly struck a chord THE PEOPLE OF BRADFORD WEST HAVE SPOKEN
